Work With Me![]() Let me help identify the factors that may be contributing to your illness, and in consultation with you and your other health care providers, create an individualized treatment plan to help you experience improved health and vitality.
Treatment requires a high level of commitment and dedication on your part. Patients that experience the most success possess three qualities:
You are a highly unique individual. Your health is a result of all the decisions you make on a daily basis, compounded over time. It takes time to get stuck and it takes time to heal. Some patients experience effective results within a few visits. This depends on you, the severity of your condition as well as many other factors. We will work with you every step of the way to help you meet you goals, but ultimately, your success is up to you. Our Approach
Consultations are offered in office at The Space Within or via phone. At this time we will discuss:
There is no obligation to buy or invest at this point, but simply to offer you valuable information regarding your health. This is required before becoming a patient. If we feel that another professional may be better suited to your case, we will be happy to make a referral. You can expect a thorough, careful case-taking, a brief physical exam and discussion of your next steps.
We will discuss initial blood work or more in-depth functional testing, some baseline homework to gather some more information, some dietary suggestions and 1-2 targeted nutritional supplements as part of your foundation plan. Many patients find this intake to be far more comprehensive than other medical visits they have had in the past. You will leave our office with your brain full of information and your printed treatment plan notes in your welcome folder. Be sure to take advantage of VIP offers included in your Welcome Folder and check your email for daily tips to get you started leveraging your health right after your Initial Assessment. You can expect targeted lifestyle and food "prescriptions", 1-4 additional nutritional supplements to help you reach health goals and a clear action plan in mind once you leave our office. We may also discuss beginning acupuncture treatments, B12 injections, exercise therapy or referral to other health care providers and specific workshops. We are also happy to update your health care team if our findings if you wish. Follow-Through visits are an essential part of your treatment so that we can assess and monitor your progress with your current plan, and address any new concerns. We will meet every 2-4 weeks at first, and then as you improve, space out your appointments based on your needs.
We follow-through to review your progress via objective questionnaires, repeating your functional testing assessments and most importantly, paying attention to how you are feeling and what you are noticing. Wellness is a lifestyle, not just a finite goal.
As your major concerns have been addressed and you have made major strides in your health goals, you may wish to move towards our Wellness Plan. We will meet quarterly or check in as needed for seasonal care and repeating baseline testing. We define successful treatment not just as an improvement in a test marker, but in how your results change your day to day life. I will work with you long-term to refine your goals, reassess your measurements and adjust our approach based on your needs so that you can enjoy the rewards of your efforts and investment. ![]() Why should I see a Naturopathic Doctor (ND)?
Do you want to take control of your life and feel empowered about your health? Naturopathic Doctors can act as your primary care health resource, or as a great complement to your health care team. We help you navigate the health information black hole, perform regular physical exams, order regular screening blood work as well as more comprehensive functional testing in order to help you create your personalized Care Plan. Naturopathic Medicine is based on these beliefs:
What types of conditions do we treat? How? We treats a variety of conditions, and most importantly, people from infancy to geriatric care. Primarily we love working with hormonal women that are feeling bloated, burnt out, moody - and ready to do something about it. What's the difference between an ND and my MD? Do I have to choose? Both Naturopathic Doctors and Medical Doctors must complete an undergraduate degree, followed by a minimum four year post-graduate degree. NDs and MDs are both trained in assessment, diagnosing and treating a variety of health concerns throughout the lifespan, with their education covering the basic medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology). Where NDs and MDs differ is in the toolkit. In our office, we use a combination of acupuncture, botanical medicine, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, injection therapy, homeopathy, lifestyle counseling, diet and nutrition, and physical medicine as primary treatment modalities. We are highly trained to recognize drug interactions with herbs and other medications, will take the time to review any lab work and get to know you. Our visits tend to be longer as well (30-90 minutes), allowing us the time to get to know each patient on an individual level. Although you have the right to choose which type of doctor you would prefer to see, most Naturopathic Doctors prefer working alongside other MDs as it allows the patient to have the most comprehensive health care. Are your services by my provincial health care plan (OHIP)? At this time, Naturopathic care is not covered under OHIP. However, most insurance and extended health care coverage plans do cover the cost of Naturopathic care in whole or in part. Please contact your provider for more information. How do I book in? You can book online here or use any of the Booking buttons on our site. If you are new to our practice, we recommend that you book a complimentary Health Discovery session first. This visit will last approximately 15 minutes and is a great opportunity to discuss your concerns and see if you are a good candidate for our practice. If not, we have a great network of other providers that we will be more than happy to refer you to if our approach is not your best fit. What is your cancellation policy, and how do I change my appointment? If you can no longer make your appointment, please give us at least 48 hours notice by phone or by cancelling from our online booking page. We charge the full cost of your visit for an appointment cancelled under 48 hours notice, or a no show. We reserve your appointment time for you and will be disappointed if you are not able to make it! You can always send flowers - that fixes everything. How is Naturopathic Medicine regulated in Canada? Naturopathic Medicine is regulated slightly differently from province-to-province (or territory and state). In Ontario, Naturopathic Doctors are governed by the The College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Naturopathic Doctors are members of Regulated Health Professions Act, amoungst other health professionals such as medical doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, optometrists and several others. The ultimate goal is to allow for increased access to care and collaboration amoungst health care professionals. Read more about the RHPA act as it pertains to Naturopathic Medicine here. |
