Sisterhood is the medicine I never knew I needed. I mean, I had devoured all the research around community medicine, and on an intellectual level, it made so much sense. The people that we surround ourselves with have an immense influence on our mental, physical and spiritual health. I knew that if I wanted thriving health, I needed to prioritize connection. Connection has been a scary thing in the past. I still have scars from my preteens after some pretty intense girl friendships, cliques and ostracizing. I was always the brainy kid, with obscure interests and easy friendships didn't feel comfortable. I spent many years thinking that I didn't want or need a Sisterhood. At least that's what I told myself. I definitely never had #squadgoals and used to look at other women who regularly went out with "the girls" like they had some kind of magical secret to making it work OR had to dull their own sparkle to fit in. I felt like I was missing out but was also hesitant to trust. Then I met my people. Other women along the way in med school who got my weirdness, I reconnected with some old friends and started to let my freak flag fly a little higher. This was my medicine I needed to level up in every way and live in alignment with my core values. It was necessary to be healed and made be braver then I could have ever thought possible. As a clinician, it is often hard to get women to face the obstacles to cure that are seriously getting in the way of thriving health. Negative self talk, sadness, hanging out with energy vampires. It is my experience that sisterhood is the answer. It is now an honour to open a NEW space to share with 20 amazing women who are also going to witness such beautiful transformations. This space is called The Wild Collective and I am so freakin jazzed to open up the Stratford chapter of this North America wide movement. Our space is one where women get to stand in their light, gain clarity on purpose, take bold action in their life and claim their health. You deserve sisterhood that feels like soul food, you deserve a safe space to grow and thrive. Want to learn more? Come hang out at our virtual info session launches - we have three events the week of September 14th. Space is limited. Save your seat at the virtual table. I wholeheartedly welcome you. With love, Dr. Keila
